To join is easy. Become a part of both the state and national organizations by sending your name, address, phone, school and publication information to JEA State Director, Fran Sharer, 545 Saddlehorn Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23322. Include a check for $60($45 for JEA and $10 for VAJTA) payable to VAJTA. When you join both organizations through the state organization, JEA will refund $5 to VAJTA to help fund state activities.

JEA/VAJTA Membership 2007-2008

The Journalism Education Association (JEA), the only independent national scholastic journalism
organization for teachers and advisers, provides invaluable networking opportunities, national
conventions, a bookstore catalog, continuing education programs, adviser and student awards, and
professional certification.

 Joining the Virginia Association for Journalism Teachers and Advisers (VAJTA), the state
affiliate, will keep you informed of statewide journalism activities including the Virginia High School
League (VHSL) Fall Publications Workshop.  If you join or renew JEA through JEA State Director,
Fran Sharer, rebate of $5.00 is returned to VAJTA for Virginia journalism activities.
