This is the second season for JCamp to be offered by VAJTA. We are working in conjunction with the Educational Media Company at Virginia Tech to provide an unbelievable
opportunity for training,
both for students and for advisors/teachers. Strands will be offered in beginning and advanced yearbook,
broadcasting, advertising and business,
literary magazine, copy editing and coaching writers, photojournalism, newspaper
design, news reporting, sports writing, feature writing, editorial
leadership and advanced newspaper (this will be the
High School Editor's Workshop that has been offered in past summers). There will also be
an improved adviser's strand. Time will be built
into the program for staffs to begin planning for the next school year.
Students may come alone if an adviser is unable to attend, but we see this as a wonderful opportunity for your staff to begin bonding
and to get wonderful
ideas from around the state.
When you register, you can just register for spots and fill in the names later, so you don't have to know who's going when you register ...
just that you
will fill that number of slots.
