Submission Guidelines and Advertising Rates

Length: 250-1500 words

Submission deadlines for 2006: Feb. 15, April 17, Aug. 10 and Nov. 1. We will have March, May, August/September and November issues.

Content: Timely information, how-to articles and personal reflections that will be of use and interest to our members. You may use first-person voice. Remember that your audience is the middle school and high school journalism teacher and media adviser. Our members advise literary-art magazines, newspapers, news magazines, yearbooks and broadcast programs We encourage writers of articles to suggest a headline. Candid shots that illustrate the content are welcome.

Copy Submission: Send a Microsoft Word or Text-only electronic version of the article to Carol Lange at LangeJour@aol.com. If this fails to open, submissions can be pasted in the message area.

If this is your first submission to VA Byline, send a 50-word bio and a mug shot.

Photographs, Mugs, Graphics Submission: Save as TIFF files. Send to Jennifer Seavey . Please provide a mug shot and short bio with all articles.
